I get the impression that women giving oral sex to men is common nowadays, however, I have never met a woman who would do such an act. I guess it is a generation change? I am 48 and have never had oral sex. Am I the only male alive at this age to not have experiened oral sex?

Ziggy,

You might be! No seriously - I doubt it.

You and I are similar in age. I've been having oral sex as long as I have had any kind of sex - but it used to be that people who had sex first had typical sexual intercourse and then after they got more comfortable with each other they would have oral sex. When I was young the only women who gave oral sex freely usually did it for money or were thought of as whores - except on college campuses.

As women became better educated - they became sexually freer. This meant they wanted the sex that pleased them most - oral sex. And when I was young (18+) if you wanted oral sex you had to give oral sex.

Sometime between now and then women stopped waiting until they were over 18 or married to have sex openly. Although the previous generations for the most part still thought of sex as part of marriage - the younger generation thought of sex as an adult activity where marriage or committment was not a prerequisite.

But the moral of no sex before marriage held on. So what before had been thought of the more intimate experience - oral sex - now became having sex without losing that all important virginity we still think is so important.

President Clinton is not alone in thinking that oral sex is not sex. If all two people have is oral sex - than to some people they still have not had sex - and are stills virgins (or have not broken vows of marriage.)

So this generation of young people have taken it one step further. After you have done oral sex together and you want to do more- but she still wants to retain her virginity - what do you do??? Anal sex. Although not as commonplace as oral sex you will find that teenagers and young adults are far more willing to experiment with anal sex than previous generations ever were.

Our values around sexuality change with every generation. You come from a generation that largely thought of oral sex as something only bad girls do - and still suffer as we all do under the notion that girls who do "it" - whatever "it" is in each generation are whores, loose, nasty, bad girls, etc.

Now this is not for you Ziggy - but in case somebody else has read this far-----there is no one definition of virginity - except a person who is a virgin has not had sex. Most people I know interpret that to mean no vaginal sex. A women's hymen/cherry/virginity is a thin membrane just inside her vagina. It used to be (and in some places still is) that proof was expected that a women kept her virginity until marriage and a bleeding hymen was prooof of her virginity. It is not proof. Some women do not have hymens - and some women tear/rupture/break their hymens in completely natural acts - like bike riding or horse back riding. ( Why do you think women's bikes don't have an extra bar and women ride side saddle --to protect their hymens!) You stop being a virgin when you have sex - not when/if your hymen bleeds.

So Ziggy, you are not likely alone in being the only man who has not had oral sex. And if it is something you really want I suggest you look for a younger woman, or look for a college educated woman, or talk to your current partner about it and express how much you would really like to experience this.

Enjoy!
Susan

Not geting a BJ

February 14 2004, 1:49 PM

I am very supprized Ziggy that you had never received a "BJ" (blow job) from any of your S/O's or wife. To me it seems like a very natural thing for a woman to do.
In my experience, woman love to play, lick, SUCK, Etc. with a mans penis.

If you read my post below, my new S/O who never did that, is going to suck me to night for Valentine's Day. I had mentioned it while she was giving me a hand job that i love to be sucked on, so she said she was willing to give it a try. Will let you know how it went.
Big John
