I was fooling around with my boyfriend and after awhile he mentioned that pubic hair was extremely unattractive. So he pointed out that I had pubic hair and he said that his last girlfriend didn't, and that i should shave it all off or he wouldn't even consider sleeping with me. Now I found this extremely shallow, but i shaved it all off anyways.This left me with the worst mother fuggin' razor bumps that could be imagined and a plethora or ingrown hairs.

What the hell should I do about my ingrowns? I've used astrigent, acne wash, facial scrub, and just plain leaving it alone BUT NOTHING WORKS.

I have had your experience too. Leave it alone and keep your shaved area covered in thick baby diaper cream until it starts to grow back. Then be brave and tell any guy who asks you to shave - NO.

I figured I'd take the opportunity of this thread to get some advice. I'm a girl who feels a bit self conscious about her pubic hair, and I was wondering what any of the girls out there could recommend by way of removal. I've tried shaving and had the same problems with shaving rash and ingrown hairs, and waxing had similar results. Laser hair removal isn't an option at this point because of the cost. Do you think my skin settle down if I continued shaving / waxing more regularly?

Hey, I have shaved for about 4 years now, because my boyfriend at the time asked me to. I hadn't realized before how long it was. I don't like the nude I just like it trimmed on the sides and I use a comb to trim the top of it. I've noticed if I go WITH the grain I get less itchy. It took quite a while before the rash went away completely. I rarely get any rashes anymore. there is a cream you can find at Walmart or Target for the bikini line. It's with the waxing stuff, usually. I haven't ever tried it because I found it after I stopped itching.

I have never shaved it off completely and refuse to, personal opinion. But I agree with Susan that a guy should never ask you to change things about yourself. And the guy that had asked me to do this was a complete jerk to me and we had a horrible relationship, just as he asked me to change my bikini line he wanted me to change in many other ways. Just a personal note.

I don't think most guys expect a women to be shaven down there, although I think most people expect some kind of maintenance. I would recommend hair clippers (sometimes can be found on electric razors). They work great - no in grown hairs, bumps, irratations or anything. Sure, its not as close as a razor but honestly all those problems just for an extra millimetre less of hair is just not worth it.

If I were you, I'd find myself a new bf, or flat out tell him, "I'm not going to shave, and if you won't have sex with me, then I'll have to invest in a sex toy for myself".

Honestly, forget about shaving. Unless you have an afro bush down there, most guys won't mind it.

I just wanted to add my personal input about pubic shaving. Personally, I like to shave around my penis and around my anus about once a month or once every two months, because it gets very hairy down there and I don't like feeling like a gorrilla. I feel cleaner without it and when I dildo masterbate, I like the smooth feeling without any hair.

My advise to anyone who wants to shave their pubic hair is to use Gillette shaving gel with water. That will make your skin very slippery and avoid razor burn or ingrown hair.
