The yearly bill for the hosting service has arrived - OUCH!

It has been suggested I have members of the site - but I didn't think I had much to offer. Well a few things have occurred to me - so I am wondering what value if any you would find these things to be..........

Become a co-moderator of the site - so your posts post instantly.

Get a link to your personal webpage on the bottom of this page or elsewhere on the site.

Get a link to your commercial webpage on the resources page.

Get to have a personal page on my website. This would have to be either designed by me for an additional fee or sent to be ready to go online.

Get a sexsupport.org  web-based email address.

Get a way to contact me 1:1 privately on the phone.

If any of these were implemented - would you want a yearly fee? quarterly? twice a year?

What would they be worth to you?

This is a tough one cause nobody has responded yet...so I'll be the first although I do not have any great ideas to resolve this situation. The web is relatively new so it is hard to tell what works or doesn't. I'll pitch out a few.....

1) You might have to bite the bullet and go to commercials and forget about those that can't access this site and worry about the ones that do. I know you do not want to do that.

2)To stimulate interest...... go to 24 hour posting and come in once in a while and clean up. And have someone else to monitor during times when you can't. I see stuff on other sites and usually someone, just anyone, comes in and helps clean it up.

3) Offer to make different levels of membership according to number and quality of posts/ donation levels.

4) Give members special discounts on your store or at some major chain on hot items that move quick..

5) Your idea of a hotline or similar for those in trouble that need immediate help....

6) Look for no strings donations outside the web by major businesses who use it for a tax write-off.

7) Get high school students ( these are the people you are trying to reach) to push your site to their friends.
For instance, the girl who can get the most members, at 2 bucks a piece, in say, a weeks time, gets a free vibrator, bikini or baby dolls or cash prize. Use your imagination. A similar prize would go for a guy who helps...he might want it for his girl.
Or free tshirts and sweaters on my next idea.

8) Tshirts/ sweaters with Susan Sex Support in graphics. Maybe you got these already.

Hmmm....well nothing mucn you can do actually. I suppose a lot of people who frequent here want to help but the problem is US is just so far and using paypal isn't an option. I would like to buy things from the store but transportation would probably cost as much or more than the item i am buying as it has to be shipped overseas. I suppose donations for the moment is the only way to go about it.
WHen you start charging then you have to realise that we become customers and what we want and and we need has to be met and that might cramp your style.
Packaging freebies with memberships are good but the problem is how much is the cost and for every dildo (example) given out for membership, how much of sales can you get back? I'm sure you dont want to be running at a greater loss as you are having now.
Also selling sex toys to kids as i'm sure susan is well aware of is illegal to those under 18, right?
Your best bet is to change servers to a free one, perhaps why don't you start hosting one up now and see how it turns out. It's free so it doesnt matter if you experiment a little. Let the market decide what they want, if they like the new server then well and good.

Is there an address i could post some money ? Perhaps just slide a dollar or two between pieces of paper and mail to you. FOr me that would be easy.
