Small Cut

Susan, I have a small cut on my vagina. It hurts pretty bad sometimes, other times I forget it's there. But it doesn't seem to go away. And if it does go away it always comes back. It's right above my clitoris. It also itches sometimes, too. What would cause it?
Also I haven't been in the mood for sex lately either. Would this cut be part of why?

You could have actually scratched yourself with a fingernail, or if could be the moisture in the creases of your labias is cause a skin breakdown. In any event I think a few things are in order - - and then if they don't work - a visit to the doctor.

First - don't have penetrative sex until it heals again. Then wait one week. ( If no sex makes it heal and stay healed - you have a clue that it may have something to do with having sex.)

If it doesn't heal and stay healed with no sex - go see a doctor.

If it heals - then use a silicone based lubrication. The silicone will coat your skin and allow better slip and slide and protect your skin.

If it doesn;t stay healed - go see a doctor.

Yes, having a break in your skin can cause you to lose interest in sex. You are (even if just subconsciously) afraid it will trear more or hurt more.

Susan
