I need advice. I’ve always said that I would NEVER meet a guy from the Internet. Well, I guess I should have taken the advice of the saying, “Never say never” but I didn’t. Anyway, I chatted with this guy for about a year and we eventually spoke on the phone. He’s 28 I’m 20. We have a lot in common despite age difference (not a big deal though). Anyhow, we decided to meet up. He came over to my job and we chatted for quite long and hit it off very well. We played word search puzzles (my favorites J) and just had a lot of fun. We met up a couple of times after, about 5 more times and went out. The problem at the time was that he was getting pretty serious. He wanted me to date him and be his g/f but I said no. Once on the phone he was making me pretty nervous talking about how he wanted to get married and have children etc and thought I’d be there perfect one and so one and after that I quit talking to him. That was a dumb decision because I miss him a lot now. He said he wanted to settle down because he is financially secured and wants to have a serious long-term relationship. And I stupidly freaked out. He is def. My type of guy. Handsome, sweet, the whole package really. I can’t stop thinking about him. He seems uninterested now b/c he hasn’t called me so I haven’t called him either. I was wondering if I should call him but I’m scared I may get dissed or something. And I am not the type to handle getting dissed JI’ve seen people get dissed and think omg, wow that’s embarrassing. So I rather not even try. What do you think I should do? Thank you.

Do you want the guy or not? Are you ready to get serious and settle down with him for good?

This guy moved pretty quick into serious territory. That happens when guys are older and ready. He is showing his maturity by respecting you when you said you weren't ready for a serious relationship.

So call him if you think he might be the one, because you will never know any other way. If you are too worried about being rejected - then you are probably not mature enough for him anyway. Don't consider that a criticism - it is just because you are different ages.

Thanks for replying Susan. I do want him and now I am ready for a serious relation. At first I didn’t because I thought maybe he just trying hard because I told him I am a virgin but later I found out that’s not even the case. You made a good point when you said if I’m are too worried about being rejected then really I am probably not mature enough for him anyway. That was before but I feel as if I am mature enough and ready for a serious relationship. I will call him tomorrow and give it a try. Better off knowing then regretting I never called.

Rita, if you really feel that he might be the 'one', then you should call him up and tell him how you feel. It's best to know for sure then regret not doing it later.
