Sandra Day O'Connor is stepping down as a Supreme Court Judge She has been instrumental in keeping abortion legal in the US. I am curious how people feel here about the right of the government to have a say in what you do with your body.

Let's try to make this NOT a for or against abortion discussion.Should the government be able to tell you what you can and cannot do with your body? This applies to abortion...gay sex...assisted suicide...using drugs...smoking ....overeating....driving without a seatbelt...

Or should the government have some say in what you do with it?

I think the government should be allowed to say what we can and cannot do to our own bodies. Yes, we still have our freedoms, but regulation helps to ensure that things are running smoothly. If government didn't ban illegal drugs, then people would get high all the time. If there were no speed limits, people would drive as fast as they like. If you refuse to wear a seatbelt, then you could be killed if you get into an accident and so on.
