Your body's natural lubrication may be acidic. Give it a try, it can't hurt. I get really really wet and still always use lubrication.

I used to have pretty much that exact problem. One day I decided to shave, and the burning was gone. Every time I let my pubes grow back, the friction and burning come back... So now, I always shave.
