That site is really an eye opener. I'm not 100% sure about all of the facts, I would want to cross check them if i had the time, but I'd imagine they're still pretty close, which is a scary prospect!
Mike, Belinda...even if these facts are not 100%, the fact that they could be close is very scary. I happen to believe that HIV is out of control. It isn't going to change until people get educated. I don't think abstinence is the answer either. But, I think each person needs to be very cautious. Teenagers/ adults also need to be aware of the consequences; the cost of treating HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases, even Herpes.
I'm going to say again as I always have....you better know the person you are having sex with VERY WELL....today casual sex is a no no and a possible KILLER.. Oral sex is not safe either even though practiced widely among teenagers/ adults to avoid pregnancy.
A person needs to know the following if they aren't sure about their partner....
Was he or she sexually active with unknown partners?
Will he or she take a blood test?
