Hi ,Susan, I have had a complete hysterecomty and it hurts to hae sex. I was told its form the nerve endings locate at the opening of the vagina. My husband had mentioned he wonders if it would hurt or help if we tried to use and oral gel (like ambolsol) sorry about spelling, a numbing gel for sore teeth. What do you think? thanks, Susi

Give it a try. Won't hurt you, but it might sting. Be sure to use a silicone lube first to coat your skin as ambosol has sugar in it which is not the greatest thing for vaginas. Also be sure to wash it off afterwards.

There are numbing ointments that do not have sugar in them that would be better to use. Check at the drug store.

Right Susan..I'm back.

Anbesol is my favorite numbing agent...I know there are others that have less odor, and it is a little pricy, but we always have it and it can be applied easily with a Q-tip. It will sting for a short while. It also will help heal up those sensitive areas.

It's also great for sensitive foreskins.
