Silicone Lubricants

Are these safe to have in the mouth? It seems like having those chemicals in your mouth would be slightly toxic. I know there aren't any warnings on the bottles, so it must be okay...but how could this be?
(I mean if oral sex happens after intercourse- not chugging the bottle or anything! )

Not that I recommend it, but I think you could probably drink the bottle. One of the nice things about the silcone lubricant I use is -is that its tasteless. The bottle says: non-toxic, allergy-tested, oil & fat free, chemical-free, among other things.

Silicone is a very unreactive chemical that is supposedly not absorbed by your digestive tract (I say supposedly because I never like to rule out possibilities). The greatest evidence for silicone being safe to eat is that there are medicines made out of silicone-based compounds (Maalox & Mylanta to name two) and that we often let small children play with silicone-based plastics, a.k.a. Silly Putty.

I still wouldn't drink the tube though.
