There is no 100% safe birth control method!!!!!February 5 2006 at 8:53 PM | Susan (Login Xuxan) Forum Owner |
| Not sterilization, not condoms, not the patch, or the pill or a vasectomy - nothing is a 100% guarantee. When you have sex you are risking pregnancy - ALWAYS.
So before you have sex you always need to think about ---- is this the person I want to be connected to for the rest of my life OR am I OK with abortion OR adoption. Sex is serious business! |

I DONT recommend abortion!
Maybe my opinion, but it just doesn't seem right! |

Billy,
Then you had better be sure that any girl you have sex with agrees with you. The law the way it stands now is that you have no choice in the matter. If she gets pregnant and she wants to abort and you don't - guess who always gets her way?

Gregorio (Login DRQUEST2) SexSupport | About vasectomy...... | February 6 2006, 5:41 AM |
A vasectomy, if performed correctly, has to be very close to 100% if the semen is checked several times under a microscope for sperm. (He must be somewhat sure he doesn't ever want kids.) However, I've have heard stories about tubes accidentally rejoining....a medical error, can happen, but rare. And, on here, lots of swelling...probably the same reason.
A guy just has to wait several ejaculations (usually in condoms) and be patient. Or he can also hasten this with masturbation.
On the downside, semen volume dimishes somewhat...probably an ego buster for some guys.
On the plus side, once your semen is 100% clear, the playground is open 24-7 with your longtime partner.
For guys that roam unknowingly with strange partners, the STD problem still exists...and unwanted pregnancy may not be your biggest worry. So, in this case, condoms might be needed also. |

Gregorio,
Hate to break it to you - but SOMETIMES one of those little sperm swim around and swim around until they find their target. I know at least two women whose husbands were snipped years before and ended up pregnant.
I stand by my statement. If you have sex - be prepared for the POSSIBILITY that she may end up pregnant or don't have sex.

No argument. It was cute. I just thought it would be a good time to make a few things clear. |

And we are not arguing...it is an adult discussion.I'm still covered cause I did state that sterilization has to be CLOSE to 100%. However, it is a good point.... Susan has pointed out something of which I was unaware. Of course, there could be an obnoxious, stubborn little, retired sperm who refuses to be ejaculated with his friends. Why not? Clinging to a wall or stuck behind a clogged tube. A little female body heat may be all he's looking for.
So...good point Susan. All this time I thought I was safe. Gregorio still could be one heck of a stud!
What a surprise for your two friends. |

If I was mad at you I would have posted it to that thread. I can appreciate humor - but I also thought it I needed to be clear at the point what was truly SAFE sex ---nothing. |

How effective is the 'don't shave your legs' advice for females? Hehehehehe it works for me

I haven't shaved my legs or anywhere else for that matter in around 30 years - never had any impact on my sex life what-so-ever. This is part of the reason I am so amazed people go to such ends to be hairless around their genitals - it is such a commitment to a every day process. My partner has to shave his face or we are limited in what we can do sexually because his razer stubble is so painful to my skin. |

Don't scare me like this! I got "fixed" after my last child, (now 11) and was celibate all the time since until about three months ago. I would never consider abortion- but no way do I want to do the baby thing again, hence sterilization. Not a sure thing? Tell me more! |

Sterilization is the surest way you can go, BUT women and men who have undergone sterilization procedures have gotten pregnant or gotten someone else pregnant- so to claim 100% is wrong - 999.9 is more likely. |

Susan is pointing out that there are possible exceptions to the rule. They must be extremely rare.
I still vote for a vasectomy for a man.In fact, more men should get them....the world is getting over-populated.
I guess for about one man out of a thousand who does everything as instructed, there might be a problem. If you are worried that it might be you, put a little semen under a decent microscope and see if you got any "swimmers". |

No man or woman who absolutely positively does not want to be pregnant has to seriously consider the consequences of sex.
Some birth control methods work very well when they work perfectly well.
Condoms have to be stored properly, not be too old, handled carefully, put on and taken off correctly. LOTS of room for errors.
Birth control pills, patches whether they are taken every day or 21 days or once a month or less - must be used correctly. Pills should be taken the same time every day - no misses - and they don't work as well when you have been sick and taken antibiotics. Patches must adhere properly, stay adhered, and be placed in an appropriate spot.
Sterilization procedures are almost foolproof. If are sure you do not want a child now or ever and you are past 30 - go for it. But realize it is not a guarantee. There are no guarantees.
When/how to have sex is an important decision - don't screw it up! | |
