i am a virgin and my bf and i tried having sex. when he entered i was really tense and i contracted. this was very recent. now i find that i have trouble holding my pee in (the muscle that stops it does not seem to be working...if i have to go, i have to go)
is this normal and temporary? i am still quite sore.

also, everytime we're about to do it i get really really tense so we dont end up putting it in or only partially. is there something that we can do to help me relax?

I'm going to say that this is a normal reaction in many women. You might have temporarily hurt yourself, but it should repair itself.I could see why it makes you nervous, but I think you will be okay.. Now that this has happened, I will say next time...try to pee as much as you can first. Next, try to relax. First time sex should not be painful, just maybe a little uncomfortable..but I think the worst is over.Use a heavy towel till things straighten out. Be sure to use lots of lube so you don't get sore. If this doesn't work , there are some over the counter aids at your drugstore to help temporarily control that urge and put your mind to rest..Susan can add to this.

thanks for your response. its a bit reassuring to know that its quite normal. but just to clear things up because i am quite confused, i did not have trouble with peeing while attempting to do it or when he got in. right now my vagina is sore and when i have to go to the bathroom to pee i cant control it, so i have to go even for the smallest amount

Do you mean that you can't hold your pee at any time? If it's been a day or two and you can't control it anywhere, I would suggest you see your Dr. If it's something you're feeling during trying to have sex, that could be pretty normal.

If you are still sore after a few days, my best guess is that you did not use lube and/or he was a little rough and/or you were pretty tense. Now you have bruised muscles. Muscle are what holds your pee in when you have to go. If your muscles are tender, they won't want to do their job.

In an average FIRST sexual situation this might last 3-4 days. But if you any of the above I suggested are correct - than it might take 5-6. If a week has passed and you still are sore and still have to pee when you have to pee - it is time to go see a doctor. You might have gotten an infection , I doubt very much you did any damage.
