me and my girlfriend just had sex and i cam inside her she and i are realy worryed shes been on BC for about 16 days now she starts her piriod in about 2 weeks, shes sdays that she hasnt felt any ovulation pains yet but idk what to dso but wait and see. any ideas?

She has only been taking birth control pills for 16 days EVER? If that is the case you have plenty of reason to worry as they might not be working yet. I'm not sure what her doctor told her, but I always recommend that you use a back up method for the first three months - and most definitely the first month.

Birth control pills are supposed to work after taking them for one week but that is if taken perfectly by a women who body is mature and very regular. Taking them properly means taking them every day at the same time and not taking any antibiotics..

She wouldn't feel pregnant the day after you have sex - that would take atleast 5 days usually.

So if she were to be pregnant what would some of the early signs be and when should we be looking for them? or is there a better way to tell? she doesnt like the EPT type of stuff.

If she doesn't want to take the test, then you can wait until her next period starts or doesn't. None of the signs are definite - they could be lots of other things.

I think the two of you need to have a very serious discussion about sex. You need to understand the risks you take when you have sex, and to understand what you need to do if the risks you take don't end up the way you hope. To do anything else demonstrates you are really not ready to have sex yet.

That's a good question...you mentioned 5 days for symtoms of pregnancy...so what would they be? vomitting, nauseousness, fatigue what? Thanks.

Morning sickness is possible, as is cramping, but both also happen when you are under stress - which is usually what anyone worried about being pregnant is.

Susan, is there a test I can do now to see if I am pregnant? The E.P.T. is used after your period hasn't come. Is there a self-test that I can use now even if it has been 3 days after sex? Or any test really? or do i have to wait until next month? Thanks

Well it depends on whether you get a regular period or not. Most wommen eventually have very regular periods, but often not until they have been menstruating for a few years. Do you keep track of your periods on a calendar?

Yes, that is why I mentioned that it comes around the same time every month. I mark it on a calander.

Then figure out when you should have it the next time and wait. If it is overdo by 5 days you need to go see a doctor.

One more thing, last time I had my period on March 16th until the 23rd then on April I had it on the 30th until the 6th...isn't that kinda odd?

No its just means you have irregular periods and you really can't be sure when your next peirod is going to start. But it definitely should start within 30 days of when your last one ended.

Birth control pills usually change your schedule and then stay consistent. Part of the reason any good doctor would have told her to use another form of protection for the first 3-4 months until her cycle became regular. Anything is possible.

ok susan my GF is now saying that she is getting break through bleeding and wierd cramps but shes says they hurt. are these signs or pregnacy?

Could be a sign of pregnancy, miscarriage, or stress. Absolutely no way of knowing unless she goes to a doctor or takes a pregnancy test.
