A way to find out yourself?

Hello Susan, I am really wondering about how a woman can tell if she is pregnant. I did an engine search and a few websites listed some symptoms but I know all women's body does not work the same but I'm sure it's close enough so is there a way I can tell right away and how many days does it take to notice that I'm pregnant? I pretty much know I am not pregnant but i'm still really not 100% sure that is why i am going to buy the test tonight but is there a way i can tell for now? I'm really rescared to check lol. Thanks.

The only way to know for sure is to go see a doctor.

If you don't want to see a doctor you have to wait until 10 days past when your period is due.

If you take the test earlier it is only right for sure if it says you are pregnant, not if you are not.

If you are very young - under 16 - that might not be right either. Soemtimes a girl who is very young will hae a period even when she is pregnant.

Why do you think you might be pregnant?

Thanks for answering. I have been reading comments to find out which is the best home pregnany test and have decided to purchase the Clearblue Easy Digital or the First Response Pregnancy Test...which would you recommend? I know i'm making a big deal out of a test but i want the mst accurate, i'm already scared about being pregnant as it and don't want any screw-ups. I also don't want to see any doctors. My sister is a nurse at the local hospital, words would spread quickly and she'd def. tell my mom lol. I don't want that unless i am in fact pregnant then I'd tell them b/c i would def. keep the baby but i'm praying I am NOT. I am 21 so the 16 y/o doesn't apply to me. Why do I think I'm pregnant? I mentioned this before, i once had unprotected sex with my ex. Not really sex, sex lol. All he did was put it in then back out, really pointless but I believe he had precum at the tip. As for my period it's never on time, I can never be too sure. One month it is and the next it is not, once i did not have my period for 6 months straight. So I don't know, my 2 other sister's have that problem, and my 3 other sister's don't. I was told by friend that i can try one of those old wives tale: Take 1 cup of milk, 1 tsp of vanilla, and 1/2 tbs of sugar and mix it together and take a little pee and if the milk turns yellow it's positive, if not it's negative. I wouldn't try that! Anywy, I am going to take the home pregnancy test tomorrow and I will come back here and report the news. cross fingers that I am not pregnant And yes, i've learned my lesson! Thanks!

Which test isn't as important as to be sure the test hasn't expired. You follow the directions exactly. And you are atleast 10 days past your due date (or in your case when you think might be your due date.)

Hello Susan, I still have not left the house to get the test strips to see if I am pregnant or not. I have been an emotional wreck lately, so much has been going through my mind and I've tried to be left alone to myslf without anyone bothering me. Well I'm back here because I got my period today (19th), last month it came on the (16th) so basically it's pretty much on time. If I was in fact pregnant my period would not have come on time right?? I think I'm worried for no apparent reason, my nipples were just more sensitive than usual for a few days but it's not. I read on another post abut the Plan B, I did not know you can have someplace call your local pharmacy and have them give you the pills, my question is, how much are the pills itself? I know you said their service is around $15 what about for the actual prescription? I'm not interested in it lol, just wondering. Back to the topic, do you think I have anything to worry about? I am def. going to get the test, I have to stop being a mess. Thanks Susan!

You've got your period - you're not pregnant. Your nipples were probably sore while you were ovulating. Since you are getting older and yoru hormones are changing this might happen every month now.

It costs over-the-counter about $35.00.
