KT,
I hope someone answers. I know how tough it is to deal with something that seems so unfair. I have a friend who has it - she is my age - and she and I have talked alot about it. She has had it a long time and she gets both very angry and very sad.
Have you had many outbreaks? How is your family handling it?
Try to think postive.

This is important for everyone to understand.
Herpes is passed from skin to skin contact. The skin must have the active virus in it. You can't see it. You can't feel it. You can't smell it. But it is there.
Dental dams or condoms need to be used when you have oral sex. A condom prevents a herpes on a penis to be passed to a mouth. A dental dam in a flat piece of condom and is spread across the vagina to prevent vagina to mouth contact.
Condoms needs to be used for all vaginalor anal sex. Condoms need to be put on before the first drop of pre-ejaculate flows.
This is part of why being a virgin doesn't matter. If you want to have no risk to have a sexually transmitted disease - that means no sex of any kind - not oral, anal or vaginal.
You can get herpes from one - one second contact with a person with active herpes. They might not know they have it. You might not know you have it for a long time and pass it on to someone else before you know you have it.
Having sex is risky business. |

You're not the only one. Just the only one who happens to read this message board and knows they have it. Sadly there are millions of you out there. And some have it - are passing it on - and don't realize what they have.
You can post about what you are going thru. Maybe some of what you are going thru is what others are going thru with oither stuff. Maybe you will help someone else not have to go thru what you are going thru.
You can't change what happened to you, I wish you could!
Susan
