Continuous Bleeding...November 30 2006 at 6:38 PM | Lu Lu (no login) |
| Hi Susan.
My friend is on birth control and also is sexually active. She bleeds all throughout the month though. She might stop for one day then it comes back. She visited and they told her that her period was probably just irregular. But why would she contiue to bleed for long periods of time like this. I am really concerned about her. She also tells me that her lower abdomen hurts around her ovaries. Could it be possible that it is tubular pregnancy or maybe a cyst on her ovary. Or maybe something else. I would really like to help her as much as I can.
Thanks,
Lu. |

Your friend needs to see another doctor. Her doctor is nto listening to her or is not a very good doctor. Bleeding all month long is never OK - that is not irregular.
I don't know if she saw a gynecologist or just a pediatrician or a family doctor, but she needs to see some one who will examine her insides and take some tests to be sure she is oK.
She needs to have a full sexually transmitted disease screen.
She needs to have a pap smear and a urine test.
She needs a blood test to check her hormones.
With what is hapepning to her any doctor who does nto do these things is not a doctor I would have any confidence in. |
