What is lubrication?July 28 2001 at 6:44 PM | Anonymous (no login) |
| I don't quite understand what lubrication is? what it is for exactly? I mean does it help females have orgasms? Or make it when there being fingered feel better? basically allow them to enjoy it more? or does it help them to enjoy sex more? or all of these things? Could you explain for me please. |

Hi!
Lubrication is what a woman's body naturally does when she is sexually aroused. The vagina does something like sweating. Some women lubricate a lot all the time and do so easily, some women lubricate just a little. When a woman is having her menstrual period or is getting close to it - some lubricate more than usual or less than usual. When women get older or are very young sometimes they lubricate very little. The rectum does not lubricate - so if you are going to have anal sex almost everybody needs lubricant.
When a woman is having sex the movement of a man's finger, penis, or especially a sex toy sometimes makes the lubrication dry. The woman's body lubricates, but it dries out too fast. Lubrication can be just saliva (spit) or it can be baby oil or it can be a store bought lubricant designed to be used for sex.
When you use lubrication everything slides back and forth easier and for almost every single woman that feels better and she can have an orgasm easier. Women are also less likely to get sore if lubrication is used - especially if she is new at having sex or likes to have sex for a long time. Lubrication help too if the women is feeling strange about having sex and her body is not lubricating well on its own. Some women never use lubrication and some women use itr all the time. I only use it when I plan on having sex for a long time.
I hope this helps.

Spit is not a lubricant. Baby oil and vaseline eat through condoms. Sexual lubrication is a product designed to NOT be absorbed into the skin very quickly. It reduces the amount of friction - so sex feels better and ordinarily lasts longer.

Sexual lubricants really add to sexual intimacy. Vasiline and baby oil are NOT sexual lubricants. The oil base eats away sex toys and condoms. Water-based lubricant is the most popular, perhaps the best lubricants are silicone based (they stay slipery longer and they don't disipate in water), however, silicone lubes are much more expensive: Sexual Lubricant |

Susan, your latest post is wrong, lubrication should not be absorbed, it should sit between the two surfaces to allow a more fluid like interaction to take place by causing the two layers of lubricant to be rubbed past of each other, instead of the lubricated object, as the lubricating fluids chemical structure allows layer or atoms or molecules to slide past each other. |

Scientist -
Read what I wrote again...."to not be absorbed". Waterbased lubes are absorbed, silicone are not - so they are better.

Im sorry to mention this but it seems as thought SCIENTIST likes to debate with you alot Susan and wants to prove you wrong any chance he gets. I don't think thats far! |

Not to worry. Scientist has posted twice. Once he misunderstood what I did post, and the other time he was just in my opinion wrong. I think I know who Scientist is and if so, I expect we will her more from him. If not, oh well. Either way, it's OK - if I am wrong I'll admit it. |

Just so that there is no confusion, I'm not 'scientist,' although I am a science teacher. Scientist was correct about what he said about lubrication though. The lubricant should stay between the two surfaces, like the oil in a car's engine.

How did you become a science teacher so quickly Clay?
And you are right - as I said - silcione lube is designed to not be absorbed into the skin so it stays as a layer between the skin. Less friction against the skin and more slip. | |
