Chrono Trigger

I finally got around to starting a game in Chrono Trigger for Playstation (its one of the two games on Final Fantasy Chronicles). I did try to play the game on a emulator before but got distracted by other things. I decided to give it another shot since I probably won't be getting any new games until Christmas and I heard that the game really picks up after the first hour of play. So far I've noticed two things:

1. The Dualshock really can't compare to the GCN controller as far as comfort goes. Maybe I should be looking for a GCN controller adapter for my PSX rather than the other way around, lol.

2. My god the loading times are terrible on this game. Maybe I should just play the game in rom form. I do actually own the game now so it would be legal.

Now Playing:
Rogue Leader (GCN)
Chrono Trigger (PSX)
Yahoo Fantasy Football and Basketball

It actually plays worse

It plays worse on a system... Man, Square must really be losing it when one of their games can be played better on an emulator for an ancient system...

Play it in rom form, but I recommend it only for a comp with over 1GHZ

I have half that power and it worked good for me

You don't need a 1Ghz to run a rom good... You just need to get the right SNES emulator... Psycho, tell them the SNES emulator you use that one works pretty well.

ZSNES is the best SNES emulator, hands-down. I think you can just pop on over to ZSNES.com to get it.

Try here http://www.roms.co.za/default.asp
and http://www.classicgaming.com/

Yes, there are some free PSX and N64 emulators. The catch is, you need to find the one that fits best in your comp. Bleem never, EVER ran on my comp, but one of those freebies did, and very good.

I don't like ZSNES

December 4 2001, 11:15 PM

Personally I had some problems with ZSNES so I found this other emulator that I have on my computer that works great. Unfrotunately since I am not at my computer right now I can't get the name of it (that is why I was asking Psycho to share the name of his since he has the same program...)

Well I found a good N64 Emulator...

December 5 2001, 11:44 PM

I am using Project64. I also got UltraHLE, but it doesn't work quite as well. Its still a bit buggy but works for them most part. FzeroX maxes out at 60fps at any resolution (1280*1024 is what I use), but Conker's Bad Fur Day runs a bit slower. I have to turn it down to 1024*768, and it goes at about 40, and has a glitch from time to time. Sadly these are the only two games I have.
My main problem so far is finding sites that have roms on them. Most sites simply have links to other sites, which also just have links to other sites. And then I find a rare site that actually have roms, and guess what? None of the links work. The only good site I found so far for roms is http://www.emuparadise.org/roms/n64/
Sadly the downloads are horribly slow, and sometimes cut off.

Anyone else know good rom sites (sorry to be bugging you)

Well I'm just playing the game on my PSX. I figure that way there's a lot less chance for my save data to get deleted since I'm the only person around that uses the PSX.

Well, I found that Kazaa actually works for downloading roms. I tried it on Imesh, but it eather didn't have any, or didn't know them as programs. I have gotten a few off of Kazaa. Most of them work good, some are buggy though. Crusin USA is half in 640*480 rez (all the meters, like speedometer), but the textures are in the rez I select. So it ends up putting the speedometer in the middle of the screen real small.
