"I know only of the park" Cathryn admitted, before she recalled her pigeons she had caught earlier. She ran to get them, to offer them to Shadow and Carbon. They were a lot of ragged feathers by this point. They really needed to be eaten! She brought them back to the group, and hesitantly offered them. "I know they aren't much to look at, but they are food."

Shadow bit her lip. "Carbon, you had looked through the city for a pet for us. I only know of her house, and maybe the surrounding yards." Her eyes grew wide at the pro-offered pigeons. "Live - I mean - dead food?" She drew back a bit, although she WAS hungry she hadn't eaten anything like that before. But at Cathryn's downcast look Shadow took the plunge and actually bit off a piece of pigeon to be nice. Not the best piece either, and no one had informed Shadow you had to de-pluck the birds before eating, so she got a mouthful of feathers with a piece of meat. She tried to smile and chew around it, but she finally had to excuse herself to go spit out the feathers.

Cathryn ducked her head to not laugh at the poor queen. Everyone KNEW you have to pluck first! Then she raised her head to look at everyone else, to see who might else want a piece of pigeon and where they might be looking for the kittens.
