Cathryn helped Carbon try to sit up as she watched him anxiously. She turned her back to Imurai. "Carbon? Do you need any help?"

Tabetha stalked forward herself, feeling a rush in her veins and a pounding of her heart. "Why do you feel as if you were made a fool of?" This was said in a quiet tone, as if something in Tabetha had switched from being hysterical to being completely calm. Her eyes were on fire, but she made no real threat to Imurai. "Of all the time we've known each other - besides that betting fight - have you ever known me to make a fool of you? Who made you a fool?" she also wanted to agree with Imurai - yes, he'd been MORE than kind, but she'd hung onto his one statement tight. Perhaps this was the core of the problem.

Shadow's mouth hung open, only making a slight wimpering noise as Kyoto was struck back as well. She felt she couldn't move, couldn't breathe, couldn't do anything ... jerkily she inhaled, only then half realizing she'd been holding her breath.
