I noticed the same thing yesterday (28th November) at about 0800 UK time.

I did not notice this happening.
I visited bwma yesterday 28th november, but cannot
say what time.

the pop-ups are sometimes maddeningly prolific and
sometimes even crash my computer, but mostly I
can just pick them off like lice and ticks one
by one.

someone, perhaps martin, suggested an anti-popup
remedy one could get but I am not competent enough
to be confident enough about downloading and installing it.
