The Parable of Arlo and BelafronDecember 10 2002 at 9:53 PM | Iznar |
| Arlo and Belafron were prancing about in utter darkness.
Suddenly, Arlo tripped over a telephone pole and shouted in pain.
Belafron asked, "what happened?"
Arlo replied, "I was prancing about in utter darkness, whereupon I was viciously attacked by this telephone pole."
Bewildered, Belafron slapped Arlo across the face with a slice of pepperoni pizza, and the two of them swam fifteen miles down the Erie canal.

To all progressive people on this board:
15 miles is an ancient unit of measurment that equals 24 km. |

To 97% of the UK - a "km" is called a "kilometre" most know it, few really care - but it's used a lot on the continent.
Just remember that "100" is 60 and "50" is 30 and you'll avoid a speeding ticket
In the UK you will never hear it mentioned, of course.
Like a UK person who measures himself in cm, it might be quoted just to "show off" or perhaps to appear to be intelectually superior (to the individual concerned)- but that's about all.
TTH stands for "The Truth Hurts", by the way |

Unless you're reading the previous post, of course. |

Conrad's earlier answer underestimates the equivalent of 15 miles by 141 metres (or 154 yards)

You mentioned kilometre and are presumably in the UK. |
