Steve,

Regarding your statement of April 8 @ 5.28 a.m.

‘’Believe me, with a girlfriend who likes to take part in marathons and 1/2 marathons, I know for a fact that all races have statute mile markers.’’

Steve, you didn’t say whether your girlfriend was an amateur or professional marathon racer. Whatever, she must be pretty determined in order to fly over to Europe, and also Africa, in order to run. But marathons place great strain on the female body. Further, since September 11th 2001, you can’t be happy with your girlfriend boarding U.K. airlines minus armed pilots/co-pilots, and missing armored cockpit doors.

The medicine profession claims that swimming is the healthiest of all activities/games/sports. Why don’t you suggest to your girlfriend that she take up swimming instead? From your various bullet-in-boards, I assume you’re a resident of southern England. Below is a club across the street from the United Kingdom of Ulster & Grand Breton Queen’s Buckingham Palace:

Serpentine Swimming Club
Secretary Mr. A. Titmuss
29 Cavendish Meads
Ascot
England SL5 9TB
United Kingdom

OFFICIAL RACE DISTANCES FOR 2004
1/4 stat.fur. race
1/2 stat.fur. race
1 stat.fur. race
1/4 stat.ml. race
1/2 stat.ml. race
1 stat.ml. race

P.S.
Steve,
Maybe the Queen is a member. What a lovely woman for your girlfriend to chat to during an early morning swim. I understand that the Queen, as Supreme Governess of the United Protestant Episcopal Church of Ireland & England, is a great supporter of marriage, whether common or statute. Maybe she might be able to persuade your girlfriend to marry you.

Erm - blimey.

She is an amateur marathon runner - and has only ran in the UK (last one, Windsor).

Last year she almost took part in a half-marathon in Barbados, while we were on holiday, but I persuaded her that it was too hot and too early in the morning!!!

And to please the metric-people here they were also having a 5(?)K run - which I presume to be 5km.

As a regular reader you should know that we're getting married this year.
And being Welsh I persuaded her to "go non-conformist" for the Wedding ceremony rather than C-of-E.

...Since you were asking
