Only the UKMA would launch a "everyone must speak in ze metric vay" crusade days before the entire nation gets involved with a mulit-million pound charity event call "run a mile", covered for hours on the BBC and reported in all the papers and on all the radio staions etc etc.
As the BBC commentator said, on Beeb One: "There are many different ways to do each and every one of the 1760 yards".
