To-day's "The Sun" features the moving front page story: "31st MAN LOCKED UP FOR BEING FAT". It is about "Poor 31st Chris" who has been locked up due to a rare illess which means he can't stop eating (Vanessaritis). It just goes to show that when you want to feign sympathy, Imperial is still the tabloids' choice.
However teh BBC gave his weight in both stones and kg (though they could not make up their minds wheterh he was 31st/190kg or 33st/206kg)

Nothing wrong with offering choice - especially when the BBC website is international.
I wish you were consistent, Martin.

I sure hope all weights in Britain aren't rounded to the nearest stone.

Of course they aren't. Usually half a stone or five pounds is preferrable. Only for humans or directing comparing with humans do we use stone. Elsewise we use pounds or tons.

REPLY: No, they're not actually, but in Chris's case, well, er, at least he himself could probably be said to be 'rounded'
