What is the status of Ireland with respect to metrication? Do they use yards on road signs? Can I buy a pound of potatos with euros? Do they have objectors?

Ireland has a half-completed metric conversion of road signs. Most/many distance signs are metric but speed signs are mph. Ireland is due to change them but keeps putting it off.

All "non-chain" grocers and butchers in Dublin have imperial only (well the ones I walked past).
