Energywatch is the Quango responsible for ensuring safety in the Gas and Electricity Industry and I wrote to them pointing out the safety danger which Transco were causing by using metric distances on their road work signs.Their answer is that their problem does not fall within their remit.However they suggest I should consult the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 or contact the Dept of Transport Eland House Bressenden Place London SW1E5DU.
