Amending 'em in NewhamOctober 5 2005 at 6:16 PM | Tony Bennett |
| Today 36 distance signs in the London Borough of Newham, mostly along the 'Greenway' footway, which runs from Stratford to Beckton via West Ham and Plaistow, were changed into Imperial distances by a team of ARM supporters.
The 'Greenway' runs along a former 7-foot sewer pipe which had its outflow at Beckton. Parts of the sewer pipe were broken up and then used to inform walkers of distances in metres.
The signs have now been 'purified' by ARM

"purified"
LOL! Not the words of a 'zealous' campaign at all! |

Tried it - that was the "disgruntled department" (about 20 metres to the right of "Frustration road").
I found that the humor department was in the other direction.
I won't mention any units. As they appeared to be satisfied. | |
