Metric height warning signs on M1

October 11 2006 at 7:35 PM

On 23.9.06 I spotted several height warning signs attached to a temporary structure spanning the M1 at junction 29. They gave the overhead clearance as "5.94m". I reported the signs to the Highways Agency in Birmingham who have assured me that the operators of the sky cradle (the structure) have now removed them.

It appears that the authorities are not as strict in implementing the regulations with temporary, as opposed to permanent, signs and need a little assistance in correcting them.
