Two 'Kings Cross Thameslink' metric signs removedJune 30 2001 at 7:43 AM | 'Bushel' |
| On the western approach to Kings Cross / Thameslink station down Euston Road, there were four blue-and-white signs, reading respectively:
Kings Cross/Thameslink 200m
Kings Cross/Thameslink 150m
Kings Cross/Thameslink 100m
Kings Cross/Thameslink 50m.
They each include the red-and-white British Rail sign.
Despite the presence of hundreds of people, numerous CCTV cameras and the height of the signs above ground being over 10 feet, we managed with the aid of a portable stepladder to remove the first two of the signs and take them to a place of safety. The relevant authorities will be informed

These four signs were commissioned by the Thameslink Rail Company and their location and content approved by the London Borough of Camden. The Borough Transportation Department has been notified about the removal of the two illegal signs and given 14 days to remove the other two

Camden have no excuse for approving these signs. BWMA wrote to them about similar illegalities in the same area back on October 3rd 2000. |

| Four more Kings Cross/Thameslink signs removed | July 22 2001, 8:51 AM |
A recent raid in the King's Cross area saw the following metric signs removed:
Two saying: 'Kings Cross/Thameslink 50m'
One saying: 'Kings Cross/Thameslink 100m'
One saying: 'Kings Cross 200m'.
An additional temporary sign, saying '600m', on Grays Inn Road heading north, about quarter-of-a-mile from King's Cross Station, below a 'Men at Work' sign, was also removed in a separate operation. An additional sign saying '600m' beneath a 'Men at Work' sign, right by King's Cross Station, could not be dealt with as it was fenced off by current road works
