Note - this was written after the "Not so simple" post...
Question: Are there no living Christian ministers or leaders you read or listen to, or even respect?
Answer? Yes, there are a few. Not many. And I have my doubts about even them
I respect any number of ministers - even those I strongly disagree with. As I have stated in an earlier post, I do have a certain respect for Charles Russell. It's clear that he studied the scripture a great deal, and I believe he's right about a number of things. Obviously, I strongly disagree with him on a number of issues as well.
I could say the same about any number of "Christian ministers or leaders". Truth - as defined by Jesus in John 17 - is the yardstick by which I measure any of them.
Again, as a followup to "Not so simple", is there any point in discussing doctrines from an entrenched set of dogmas? Are we not to prove all things and hold fast that which is good? Is not the Church (wherever it may be) to be the pillar and ground of the truth? God defines truth, not man. If you choose to have any further discussions, I promise you I will
NOT quote from
ANY "Christian ministers or leaders" - living or dead. I will however quote the bible, perhaps from multiple translations in cases where the meaning isn't clear. I may also quote from Strong's, a bible dictionary, etc in cases where the meaning of a word isn't clear.
