I would like information on setting up a bulk vending route. I'm not sure if Quickbooks would be overkill or if I should use Quicken. I have a vending machine on order (gumball). So far I've paid for the machine and licenses with personal check and credit card. I will be buying the product from a local warehouse club.
Are there any good books to read about setting up Quickbooks for this type of business?
This should be very simple to do with Quickbooks Basic. You don't need the Pro version for this type of business. You simply record your deposits and credit your Sales Income and Use Write Checks to record your expenses for the business. Use a separate checking account for the business so you don't mix your personal and business funds.
Hello there. I read the question with interest as I just purchased quick books for my business.
I noticed when I entered how much cash I had gotten from one of my machines as a "deposit" it said that it said something about an invoice and that it would show up as a credit until I got the invoice worked out or something like that. But I don't invoice anyone obviously so tell me what I need to do to resolve that issue. I'm sure its simple.
Also, I see that you told the other gentleman to set up a different checking account so that you don't mix business with personal stuff. So let me give you this example and you tell me what to do.
I get 1000 dollars out of my vending machines. I want to give my wife 200 dollars to spend. How do I do that without jeapordizing proper books? I'm a bigtime novice at all this so thanks for your help in advance.
Blessings,
Kenneth
in summation....two questions:
1. How do I get that invoice thing off of there so that my deposits show up immediately and not as a credit.
2. Anytime I need money from my business to spend...how do I set that up?
