Loans to customer with amortization schedule

We offer customer loans to qualified clients. I need amortizations and pay schedules for that client from us. The instructions for customer loans in the help index do it all as a general journal entry but that is not what I need. (Unless of course I am misreading the instructions). There appears to be no message board for the loan feature yet and I need help!

QB doesn't do amortizations & loan schedules like you need.

I don't know if the Microsoft programs (Word or Works) still include it, but years ago, I used to use an amortization schedule in Works. I now use a program called TValue, which lets you calculate advanced/complicated loan formulas (interest only, fixed principal, etc.)

Amortization schedule

I believe that both Excel and Lotus spreadsheet programs have an amortization template. I would be happy to send you by e-mail a lotus template that I created to track loan payments.

Loans to customers

We do the same - loans to customers. Please go to Suggestions to QB Box and request to add this to QB in their new version. The more people that request Loans to Customers with amortization schedules the more likey QB will add.

Loan using NoteSmith

You can service loans and construction draws in NoteSmith, then export the payment data right into QB. It will also print amortization schedules.
