Is anyone using this for a Retail Book Store?
I heard that it POS v 3.0 cant scan Book Barcodes correctly ? They are ISBN versus the normal SKU type bar codes.
Has anyone done this this?

Thanks

Maybe look at Microsoft Retail Management Software (Microsoft bought up QuickSell 2000, and refined it)? apparently the BEST POS setup....long track record etc. I am comparing QBPOSv3 to it...seems QBPOSv3 is more polished and new looking...but have a feeling is limited from what i unedrstand. QBPOSv3 seems real easy tho...and the setup between Quickbooks and QBPOSv3 is pretty easy. But i ahev't used it enough to see if it can do things better that maybe RMS can.

apparenlty RMS supports viryually everything...really no drawbacks. u can even hookup your accounts from QB to RMS very easy too also apparently. Micosoft markets RMS with SBM (Small Business manager 7.5 (i think it's really Great Plains Accounting software)). So you woukld think the two would be seamless....apparenltly not tho. people say using QB with RMS is BETETR than using SBM with RMS. because u have to EXPORT yourdata then import in SBM...in QB it automatically transefrs over.

QBPOSV3 seems easier to setup and use tho...but i think RMS has real power. it seems it can be used in almost all busines types...wheeras QBPOS cannot. I also don't think u can use those wireless inventory counters either and dump the counted data into QBPOS? And i guess apparenlty all inventory, PO's, etc are handled in the QBPOS..not QB anymore after installing QBPOS.

one other nice thing abut QBPOSv3 also...is that customer data from QBPOSv3 alsocan be transferred back to QB also.... i don't think RMS can do that.... they both have their plus and minuse's. but seems QBPOSv3 is the simplest but may not be the most powerful...but if u just need somethign fairly simple...maybe QBPOSv3

also..not sure how many packages u have to buy of QBPOSv3 if u want a counter register and back office compuetr 9to do inventory, PO's etc in the backofffiec...instead everything on one computer out front)? i still haven't gotten a answer.
