NP - Any Community Theatres using QB NP edition?

We're a small community theatre wanting to use QB NP edition - I had been using QB Pro but the COA & Class list seemed to grow out of control.

I switched to the NP edition thinking I could wipe out my current COA and use the stock one from the NP edition.

Here's what we need to track:

We sell tickets to shows - various levels & discounts
We accept donations - both restricted and unrestricted
Each show/event (play, musical, improv, etc) needs its own budget, P/L statement - splitting the profits to several different funds

We do 6 shows a year, and several other fund raising events too.

We own our own building so we have all the normal overhead expenses.

That's the background, here are the questions:

Is there any way I can use my current company file (created in pro) with the NP edition - Do I need to wipe out the current COA, class list (other lists?) before importing? [and how?]

I originally set up classes for the various shows so I could track in the P/L but that gets out-of-hand fast - Is there an easier way?

If I have to re-enter all the past data into QB NP then so be it - I switched to QB several years ago because excel got way out of hand.

Sorry for the length.

If someone wants to contact me off list, that's fine. Or on-list.

Thanks in advance,

Carl Underwood, Treasurer
Zanesville Community Theatre
