QB Premier for Contractors 2004

Help! I've been trying to use this software package since Nov 2003, and am still unable to find training in the Premier for Contractors version. Can't do inventory, time tracking for Time & Materials jobs (can't figure out how to input the billing rates so the total time for a carpenter shows a dollar value on the invoice), change orders for customers, or payroll, and am generally so frustrated that I'm ready to dump it.

Does usage of this software require that one be a trained bookkeeper already or what? Haven't been able to find any trainer who knows about the Premier for Contractors' version....What outside books or resources does anyone recommend?

Thanks so much in advance for any assistance offered.

J. Lloyd

I've been using QB Premier for Contractors since Dec. There ARE some quirky things but I've been able to make it work. I, also, can not find anyone who is expert in this software. I took a class through the Journal of Light Construction industry show by Karen Mitchell on OnLine Accounting. Her # is 888-254-9252, e-mail www.onlineaccounting.com. You can e-mail me with a specific question if you like and I'll see if I can help. I've been doing job tracking with it and using Excel as well and even though it's complicated, I seem to be getting good numbers from it. Good Luck. Kay

Best place to find in depth training is realworldtraining.com They are endorsed by Quickbooks for training. Also found instructors to be very knowledgeable and accessible. Have a good day. Pat
