I just started using Quick Books Pro 2004. What i need to know is if i can get the program to do the following with invoicing so i can bill my customers:
previous kw/used
100
current kw/used
295
Total kw/s used
195
Cost per kw
.08
Amt Due
15.60
I can get the invoices set up with this information but it will not calculate the difference between the previous kw and the current kw to give me a total amout that was used.
$15.60
May I suggest that you put the kw useage in the same column. If you modify the Intuit Professional Invoice, you have 3 columns, Quantiy, Rate and Amount. Change the headings to kw hours, rate, amount. On line one enter current kw used as 295 this will extend at .08 to be 23.60. On line two enter previous kw used as -100, this will extend as -8.00. Your net invoice will be 15.60.
Harvey that is a great idea but i have 250 invoices to put in a month and i need to set it up to where they can see what the previous amount used was and the current amount used not just the amount used subtracted from the previous amount used. Unless im an idot and cant figure it out :)
You have asked for something that QuickBooks is not designed to do. I tried to come up with a solution and failed. Harvey is on the only possible track.
I looked at the Intuit "add-on" software for something. Maybe take a look at that. You might find something there.
