I do not think POS v4.0 was ready to sell

I just bought 4 seats of POS 4.0. The only way to buy it was to download the trail and then spend 3 hours with a sales rep trying to figure out how I could pay to get it authorized. I was able to buy 4 seats of the POS 4.0 and one QB Retail Premier Edition 2005 after much work and hassle. Now I find that there is no menu provision or instructions for using the same data on all the seats. The trail version only allows you to set up as a server and after you activate the trail version you have 4 servers and no ability (that I can find) to change three of the seats to workstations and to connect to the same data. There is also almost no information about how to set up this miraculous team of QB Premier Retail Edition 2005 and QB POS v4.0. Basic questions like do you set up inventory in POS or QB ? It seems much easier in POS because you can use the excel template. I am not a newbie...I bought this software because I thought it would be a good solution. Now I am sitting on a $5,000.00 lemon that has not been debugged and I have no chance of getting any help with this product until the 9-5 M-F folks at Intuit come back.

If there is an answer that I am missing, I would greatly appreciate a nudge in the right direction.

Aaron

Point of Sale 4

You should have been asked if you wanted to install POS as a server or client when you installed the software. You need to install one as a server and the others as clients. POS on your clients will automatically locate your server if the server and client computers are on the same LAN. You may want to uninstall and reinstall POS on you client machine to see is you are given the choice of server or client. Your inventory normally only needs to be in POS. I use Point of Sale 4 with 1 server and 2 clients and Quick Books with no problems.
