I just started a new consulting business organized as an LLC in New York. I would like to know which QuickBooks product is best suited for my business and the LLC structure. Thanks.
Much will depend on the volume of business you plan on doing. However, most consulting businesses have uncomlicated bookkeeping requirements and most of my consulting clients are happy with Quick Books Basic.
You only have to worry about the product that will do the functions that you are going to want to use in the program. Below is a link to the product comparison web page. As for your LLC, when you set up your QB company, you want to select a Service type business and it normally files a 1040 Schedule C tax return if it's a single owner LLC. For tax purposes, an LLC is not recognized. There is no LLC tax return filed. Your books will be kept just like a sole proprietorship and set up the same way. So, just look at the things the different "flavors" do and select the one that's right for you.
