this is such a non user friendly piece of software

look, I will admit I have been a QuickBooksPro 2006 user for about one day, but this is such a pain to sue, I work for a general handyman service, and I do not have cut and dry "job details" to add in the estimate function, when I try to enter a total for the his many odd jobs, I have to categorize and label everything which is impossible,, there are just TOO MANY odd jobs that are done, what can be done to understand the language that this software is talking, is there a translation service?
Gosh, I hate this software, if I could chuck it I would, but I HAVE to learn this piece of excrement for work... so is there any real help out there to UNDERSTAND this software????
