Never had a problem with this before, but since yesterday QB won't allow me to view the downloaded statement. It's the same pop-up window you get when you've matched all the transactions and there's nothing else to view. It gives me the updated balance, but won't let me in to view the transactions.
I've tried disabling the account for online service, re-enabling, etc. but nothing's working!!
Once you have deactivated account then the trouble begins. I had recreated my company (as separate entity) using multicurrency and could not get the online downloads to look for an account. I was raped for $80 from Intuit to get technical support and still cannot download except to my old company file. I think this bug was left in as a create work project for their technical department to milk more money out of their patrons. I say this because the online help text sucks.
Worst Technical Support and Flakies S/W I've ever Seen.

The Problem: (Thanks to Intuit)
I also am having trouble with downloading bank statement in Quick Books.
The flaky QB s/w just stopped displaying any statements just after a s/w update. The download procedure seemed normal from start to end. There just was no statement info displayed for matching transactions.
I couldn’t even download the bank statement and save if in QB format to my HD because of the flaky QB s/w. Downloading statement in .csv (spreadsheet) format worked ok because QB s/w is not used.
The work around Solution: (NO THANKS TO INTUIT)
1. To Successfully Download QB (.qbo) file statements manually go to MS Windows “folder options” and “file Type” file the .qbo file type and edit. Check the “comfirm open after download” box and then click OK.
2. Now you should be able to download and save your bank statements online without the flaky QB s/w interfering.
3. Now I start up the flaky QB s/w and import my Visa bank statement from the .qbo file saved on my HD for the month and the statement info now shows up in the Online banking and QB Match windows.
4. However my Cheque statement info wouldn’t import using the same QB import utility so I tried double clicking the saved .qbo (Cheque Statement) file on the HD and the statement info now shows up in the Online banking and QB Match windows.
A Few Closing Words to Anyone that Cares
INTUIT should be a shame of themselves for their complete in difference to there customers and for not caring about the s/w bugs in there products. The seem to have the attitude that customers should pay a monthly technical support fee to help INTUIT find problems in their flaky s/w.
After calling the INTUIT support number and waiting on hold for over 30 minutes I tried to ask for a manager and the rep said that wasn’t possible. I wouldn’t hang up until he promised that a manager would call me. That was 2 months age and I’m still waiting for the call!
I’m starting to believe the INTUIT buys up the competing businesses and then uses these policies to rip off the customers.
I hope the technical info above helps some of you INTUIT / FRUSTADED customers. You can be sure I haven’t posted this info for INTUIT benefit. However it would be a nice surprise to get a call at some point from the President of INTUIT to let me know I’m wrong.
