I am constantly getting this from my firewall.

09/14/2002 12:25:58 Blocked TCP Outgoing qbmarimbaqw.quicken.com [206.154.102.253] 80 209.214.99.42 1476 C:\Program Files\Intuit\QuickBooks Pro\Components\QBAgent\QBDAgent.exe 6 09/14/2002 12:25:49 09/14/2002 12:25:58 Ask all running apps

Tell me, how do I shut that QBDAgent off. I really dont want to uninstall QB and go with a competitors product. But I will if I have too. Its quite annoying.

QBD Agent

This thing comes on when you turn on your computer, not just when you open the QB program. If you subscribe to the payroll tax tables, you cannot disable it as it checks for tax table updates and can give false mesages and crash if you disable it. You actually need to do a registry hack in order to disable it from turning on when you turn on your computer. And it still opens when you open the program. You also need to remove it from your start up folder if it's in there. You can turn off the automatic update feature using this:

File; Update Quickbooks; Options; Auto Update OFF

But you will not be able to automatically update the program and will need to manually install the program updates. And you don't want to disable it if you run payroll and subscribe to the payroll tax tables.
