When the committee chose that date for the meeting, I made it clear that I had prior arrangements, as did Derek Greenwood. However, the club is bigger than one or two individuals, and so it's not necessary to halt everything if one or two people can't attend something.

To address Tufty's points:

>>organising a public meeting for a Friday night at 7:15pm, with only a one line mention in the previous days weekly news is one big f@ck up!<<

We don't have control over what gets put in the weekly news. You make it sound like I write it or something. Dave Bettley was on holiday, I think, and so they didn't pick up the press releases I sent them.

>>Firstly 7:15pm on a Friday is the worst possible time.<<

Possibly.

>>Secondly, the Weekly News comes out on a Thursday and most people dont read/buy it till Friday or Sat.<<

Ok, so you are saying that all events should be organised around not just the publication dates, but the purchasing patterns of the Weekly News? There's only so much we can accommodate.

>>Thirdly, unless already interested in Runcorn FC (And many have lost interest since its left the town), you have to actually read that section on the back page.<<

Well, that's the whole thing about newspapers - to get the info out of them, you have to actually read the appropriate bit. Not much we can do about that, is there?

>>Dave Bettleys article this week, could be very damaging.<<

I'm not sure how exactly.

Cheers,

Steve.
