What you have to remember

Response to Re: A few suggestions

Is that local businesses get hammered from Junior football teams, schools, scouts/guides and local charities asking them to invest.
What you have to offer them, is a return on their investment. Why is £500 to Runcorn Linnets Football Club a better use of funds than £500 to fund a complete junior team, for which they get their name on a shirt and local coverage in the papers.
The bigger the firm (ICI, Bass, Schreiber etc) all get more requests from nationawide charities and groups.
Constantly being approached from money/sponsorship is not going to attract investors.

Having seen the majority of the current board in action and this plan to attract £250,000, I cannot see a return to Runcorn within the next 10 years.
All these firms and investors were approached when the football club needed saving at Canal Street and nobody came forward. The town of Runcorn and Runcorn Football Club have moved on a lot since then.
The last game at Canal Street attracted less than 250 supporters. The biggest gate at Witton has only been 300 supporters for a local derby, where kids went free.

Runcorn Town have launched the same plan in order to gain their floodlights, its a competetive market and the marketing needs to be good.
The thought and effort put into this to date has been 3rd rate. More thought is needed in order to succeed.
