Response to achievment

Ha ha.
Half the reason that the club had no money and no ground, was that these so-called voluntears backed the Doc and his cronies to the hilt, ignoring all concerns about playing in Widnes, Prescott etc.
Happy to go along, as it was the only fulfillment they had in their life, happy to ignore the real problems.
Its all well and good standing up at Runcorn FIRST meetings about saving the club, but then attending the free trial game in Widnes was in contrast to what was being preeched.
It took them far to long to wake up to what the reality was.
In truth, if half of this effort was done whilst at Canal Street, then the club would stil be there. Most these people never supported events at the social club, helped out at the ground or done anything to fight The Doc and his move. Infact certain people were only to happy to jump into bed with the Doc at Widnes, as it looked good on their CV's.
CV's > Runcorn FC.

Yes they are now moving in the right direction, setting up a new club was the biggest step, but its no good donating an organ if your continual pushing of alchol and cigarettes killed the organ in the first place.

The club didnt win the league, it got promoted, which was required, however, given the budget and resources it should have won the league.
This season is a complete failure on the pitch, the budget and resources again are enough to win the league, but the clubs nearer relegation. Yes, the management has been addressed and results will have to count from day one next August.
Little is done to attract new people or more people through the gates, the same failings that helped towards the clubs demise at Canal Street.
Happy for the same 180 to turn up each week, rather than encouraging more.

Many a person in Runcorn has stayed away from following the club during its Canal Street days, as its image was never the best.

Having a ground in progress and a ground plan on paper are different things.
The Doc drew up plans for a new stadium during the 1st year in the Unibond.
The same plans and aims were set then for funding this ground, yet it never materialised and that was with the asset of Canal Street behind it.
But its a sign of progress.
I have no interest in watching any games at Witton, supporting a team that has no links with Runcorn other than an adopted name. I've been a few games, but it was novelty, the reality soon kicked in that it wasnt the same club or the same experince, I dont need it to fill a void in my life, as many others who no longer attend have found.
Once the team is playing in Runcorn, my interest will increase and I will support events that will fund its return. Its a long way off that first peice of turf being cut for the ground and even longer before the fist click on the turnstyle and first game is kicking off there.

Some people dont see the reality, they think any 2nd rate excuse is acceptable, dont see progress and dont see the outside world. Living a life that woudlnt be out of place in Royston Vasey. The same people who helped the club drift over to widnes, as they were scared of the void in their life it would create, so its easy to acept rather than challenge.
Unfortunately, to many of these people have a place on the current board and its already hit the clubs progress.

It might be all well and good in your sad life, happy to sing the praise of what they have, but a bit of reality and a bit of positive criticism can only result in a positive future.
