Just like the free junior season tickets, no effort goes into promoting Runcorns tickets, bar an annoying pop up on the official site.
The scheme of name your own price is a decent PR scheme as it generates publicity. With it, you will find that your comitted fans will pay over the stipulated value of the ticket, whilst passing fans can be picked up for a small price, overall it probably balances itself out.
The under 16's ticket is good, but it relies on adults going to games.
The club should have a gate where under 16's get in free on the gate, rather than filling in forms for a season ticket.
Throughout the season, £1 dad and lad vouchers should be given out on the back of the World and The Weekly News.
Gates have dropped right off since the club was formed and simply returning to Runcorn is not enough on its own to increase gates.
I dont predict a dramatic rise in gates once the club returns to Runcorn and a lot of effort is needed to get local kids and new supporters interested.
Every Prem League game can be watched live on the internet, most pubs show the live games of popular teams in the area, there are more people in some social clubs and pubs on a sat afternoon watching live Prem football than there are on the terraces at Witton.
In 12 months time when the club is playing in Runcorn (I wont say returning to Runcorn, as its never played a game in Runcorn), it will be competing with Runcorn Town for spectators and I bet that their admission price is a lot lower than that of the Linnets. |
