We considered that sending a team made up of predominantly reserves to Chorley may have been a step too far at this early stage in their development. Chorley are an Evo Stik League outfit with a strong squad this season, we felt it would be better to instead have the Reserves training together with the remaining First Team members, thus enabling them to further get to know each other. This will hopefully make it easier for reserve players to make the step up as and when it happens, and hopefully serve as a morale booster for all the players.

The Youth team are also going to be involved in this "behind closed doors" session, it will also serve as a good exercise for the teams adminstrators to fill in various forms, and for the managers and assistants to have a look at and chat about all the players across the three teams.

The reserves have tbeen training with the firsts when they can, however it is not always possible due to the differing match schedules, this was considered an opportunity to get everyone together.
