First go to the conference AGM this Saturday and tell a few porkies like...we have got a sound business plan and a 10 year use at Halton Stadium. The fact he always pays the bills and the board haven't got two pennies to rub together between them is beside the point. Never mind if the council might still refuse to accept you if you don't pay again, the important thing is to buy time !
As for a sound business plan, does he really have to explain that one ? He can always buy the right people drinks all day and they may forget about that bit ?
Next, start the season by crossing his fingers and planning ahead for next years salary cap.
After all if Widnes can manage a salary cap and stay up surely our club can ? O.K. Admittedly
the club has no real income and loses money at every single home game if it wasn't for the council's subsidy and sponsorship, but that's beside the point. O.K. also that the likely
salary for a player will look like resulting in about £30-£40 per player per game by 2005/06 season,
but that's in the next year's plan. Cross you fingers and talk about some new potential sponsors and the players won't have a clue this season ?
Next, start praying for a miracle or a lottery winner who loves Runcorn FC. What else is there
to do ?
Next settle down to getting to know the fans more by mixing with them in the stand rather than
seating in a box as usual.
oh...forget it...he'll never do the last bit !
