Suggesting ideas on how to improve gates and bring in revenue is not whats needed. what you have to do, is suck up to the board and they will love you.
From official site
[quote]One Runcorn fan who struck it lucky recently, but not by being so fortunate as to win the Tote, was 15 year old Gary Ratcliffe. Gary used the website to send an eMail to tell the club that despite not getting to matches as often as he would like, he’s still a “proud supporter”, and that he thought what had been done with the club was “great”. As luck would have it, one of the board members was planning to visit his home town of Crewe on business, and was able to drop off a programme and scarf as a thank you for the kind words in his eMail. The club has also made a special effort to send a free shirt over to New Zealand for someone else.
I wonder how much of club funds get sent to Nigerians saying they have won millions on a lottery?!!!!
first time I have been on this site and I just noticed that I made a special trip to New Zealand to deliver a shirt. Bit surprised to find out that there was no other reason for my 5 week trip to asia and New Zealand.
If you wish to start being taken seriously then the facts need to be right.
just where does it say you made a special trip to new zealand...it says the club made a special effort. it doesnt say it was hand delivered by special courier get over yourself and before you start slagging ppl off......read.
Sorry about misunderstanding your post but the only involvement of the club was getting the shirt signed. What happened was a person contacted our club sponsor via the club web site.
So I said as I happen to be going that way I could drop the shirt in the club were not involved.
If you know somebody in NE USA, Eastern Europe or Egypt I may be able to do the same for you.
no problems you sort it out with the czech rep and poland and i think i may be able to help you as well. Always nice to be of service to a fellow fan. speak on saturday
I think your idea of having the best known club in our league is a great idea . The possibilities are vast with publicity ,a pre-season friendly or even just a road trip. I do belive we already have a match ball sponsor from New Zealand . With your contacts around the world this could be a real runner and who knows a real publicity and cash generator and obviously appreciated by all the fans at our club.
The aim should be to have a well supported and well known club within Runcorn.
At the end of the day, its people through the gates and drinking in the social club that wil carry the club forward, not pointless trips to hang shirt on walls of far flung places.
Try establishing a home market before you have deluded dreams of world domination. Do you think that any passing person inNew Zealand actually cares about having a shirt from such a low ranked club on its walls?
I agree whole heartilly that the primary aim should be to get more people through the gate and into the social club and to the aim I am all ready helping as I am sure other people are.
World domination ? what a great I idea , never thought of it , but I dont belive it will happen , but you do need an aim.
What i was hopeing to to generate is publicity and as I have all ready had 2 replys then its a start. On publicity I had a conversation with a director of Ebbesfleet utd on Thursday and he was saying they had had tv crews from Spain ,Italy , Scandanavia as well as Mexico visit their club on the back of a tie up with an internet fans group.Thats publicity at work.
You never know some of us went to watch Vasco de Gama Vs Santos on the back of watching Vasco win the world club championship.
But the most important thing is that lil old me has surgested an idea and I dont see why we can not help him with it.
As he would appear to have a great many contacts I am sure your help would be appreaciated.
A total sell out and I hope the clubs fails as a result.
Its bad enough overseas owners coming and and taking control of clubs, but for a club to cheaply sell itself to become the playing of people on the internet is a joke. If people want fantasy football, then join a fantasy football league.
Yes they have got pR out of it, but that will only become short term, with the odd bit of coverage here and there should they win anything.
As for Runcorn, they should contact Athlone Town and arrange a pre-season friendly there. For the last few years at Canal Street, about 20 Athlone fans would come over for the game on Grand National weekend, they would buy shirts, scarfs, etc by the bag load.
The club should tie up a bond with Athlone.
I dont know what Ebbsfleet Utd has done is right or wrong only time will tell especially as I dont know all the facts.
We as followers of Runcorn should not be wishing the demise of a club on anyone after our fortune.
The pe-season idea is a bit confusing , do you mean their pre-season ie febuary/march or our pre-season july/august after this is cleared up we can look at home or away and costings and then take your idea forward.
I wont put my name, as Im scared of you knowing wh
