I notice todays Weekly News carries a story about the supporters team wining a trophy in its first season, making out they have actually achieved something.
What it fails to mention, is that you played a one off friendly game against a team that has never played together before and that the trophy was given to the winners as a gesture of goodwill.
The way that yourself and others are proclaiming this trophy, you would think that it was an actual compettion that yuo won, beating other teams on the way.
Sad, very sad.
Hey dick head ( sorry, I mean Dave ), FC United approached us about playing for the trophy in memory of one of their supporters who tragically lost his life while away supporting his team. The idea was to raise funds, awareness, and to begin what will hopefully be an anual event between ourselves and FC United or a competition with other local supporters teams.
As for it not counting as winning a trophy just because it was a one off game, have you never heard of the community shield?
You suggested that we have achieved nothing this season, at our first training session four of us turned up. We had no team, no pitch, no league to join, no kit, no balls and no money.
Thanks to Daz, Shaun and all the committed lads in the team we now have a home ground, 3 brand new kits, 10 mitre training balls, 2 £40 match balls, 24 keen players and more wanting to sign, a pub to go to after games to feed the away team, 2 sponsors, a good presentation evening with the 1st team in which 4 lads were given trophys, a mid table finish and we are the only team in the league to beat both Everton and Liverpool, all in our first season.
Yeh, your right, we have achieved fuck all.
I would seriously love to meet you face to face Dave, why dont you come the supporters friendly v Man U supporters at Pavillions tom, I will be there and I would just love a one on one chat, or perhaps you can share with all the lads how delueded and unsuccessful we are.
i love to meet you unlce alf and dave . like biggey sed both you dont have balls to say anything to the lads . I bet you dont even turn up to watch the corn do you.
The end of the day jealousy does not get you anyway in life.
grow up will you
Regarding the picture we was having a laugh with andy mc i didnt even know the pic was taken at the time.
Watched linnets supporters play at pavilions today
Surprised at the level of fitness from both teams
The passion and will to win was a credit to both teams
Well done to all the players, not a bad gate as well...
Cheers Bill.
I was pleased with our performance, we just lacked the cutting edge in front ogf goal after havig and creaing the better chances. Think my shots stil on its way down!!!
A good run out for the Utd lads, who were let down by kost the players at the last minute, leaving us with a make shift team (Even including a Liverpool fan, no wonder he issed our pen!!!).
